AVM SGR S.p.A., EuVECA benefit company manager, announces the launch of Gaia Growth, a multi-compartment fund dedicated to catalysing capital towards entrepreneurial projects with high transformative potential in key strategic sectors for the future of Italy and Europe.
The fund is structured around and inspired by four strategic pillars, aligned with ESG objectives and priorities outlined at European and international level, including the Green Deal, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the NextGenerationEU programme and Mission 4 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
In a global context characterised by climate, health, social and demographic crises, Gaia Growth was created with the aim of connecting capital, skills and innovation to support the growth of companies capable of generating positive impact and lasting value. To do so, the multi-compartment fund was created with the aim of covering five essential sectors with five compartments, each with an investment horizon of 7 to 10 years and a fundraising target for each vertical ranging from €10 million to €100 million.
The first division, already operational, is Mediterranea Investimenti, focused on entrepreneurial development in southern Italy and promoting regional excellence.
The coming months will see the launch of a sector dedicated to advanced and digital healthcare, one dedicated to social innovation and issues relating to digital transformation and education, a fourth sector focused on the agri-food supply chain and the technological transition of quality production, and a final sector focused on biotech, medtech and digital health.
Each of the five verticals will contribute to the diversified construction of Gaia Growth’s portfolio, sharing common objectives of return and impact on the real economy, with a long-term vision and strong integration of ESG criteria and sustainable and inclusive development: the fund’s multi-compartment structure allows it to balance risk and return, stimulating innovation in key sectors.
Each investment line of the multi-compartment fund will also be supported by a dedicated team and a qualified network of industrial, institutional and academic partners, who will ensure an integrated and synergistic approach.
“Gaia Growth was created to offer an investment platform capable of combining capital, expertise and responsibility,” said Giovanna Dossena, principal of AVM (pictured), in a statement. “With the launch of this new multi-compartment fund, we are strengthening our mission to promote the growth of innovative and responsible Italian companies, with a concrete impact on the economic and social development of our country.”
