€1.2 million round for Maxi Mobility

Maxi Mobility, a start-up that aims to redesign the paradigm of electric mobility for professional use, has announced that it has closed a €1.2 million funding round. The transaction will enable the company to scale up its full-electric fleet and charge-as-a-service model dedicated to taxi drivers and urban corporate fleets. The founders, a group of angel investors, UniCredit Bank and Motor Valley Accelerator, the programme of CDP Venture Capital’s National Accelerator Network, which has Plug and Play Tech Center, UniCredit and Fondazione di Modena as co-investors, participated in the transaction.

Maxi Mobility facilitates the transition to electric vehicles through an all-inclusive monthly subscription formula designed to break down the main barriers to the adoption of zero-emission vehicles: from high initial investment costs to the fragmentation of charging services and the operational complexity of fleet management.

The service includes the rental of 100% electric vehicles with no upfront payment, on an all-inclusive basis; unlimited charging at a network of strategic locations, in collaboration with partners operating in the sector; a digital platform for fleet and charging service management and optimisation; dedicated 24/7 assistance and simplified onboarding to facilitate driver conversion.

The potential market that Maxi is targeting is booming: there are over 13,000 active taxi licences between Milan and Rome, with new licences on the way thanks to the 2023 Asset Decree, which encourages the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles.

The proceeds from this investment will enable Maxi Mobility to expand its existing fleet in Milan and Rome; enhance its technology platform and integrated charging services; and accelerate the industrial development and scalability of its model in Italy and key European markets.

“The investment in Maxi Mobility is fully in line with our mission to promote concrete and scalable solutions for sustainable mobility. Maxi is tackling a crucial challenge with an innovative and pragmatic approach, making the transition to electric vehicles truly accessible and simple for taxi drivers and urban fleets. As Motor Valley Accelerator, we are excited to accompany them in this phase of growth and industrialisation,” commented Enrico Dente, director of Motor Valley Accelerator and Plug and Play, in a statement.

“The arrival of a partner such as Motor Valley Accelerator represents a strategic validation of the work we have done and gives us the impetus to bring our vision to an industrial scale,” says Gian Paolo Incutti, CEO and founder of Maxi Mobility. “Electric mobility can become truly accessible if it is built around the concrete needs of those who experience it every day.”
