Lexroom, the artificial intelligence platform that innovates in the legal field, announces that it has closed a €16 million Series A round between primary and secondary led by Silicon Valley-based venture capital fund Base10 Partners. The round also saw participation from Spanish fund Acurio Ventures, Diego Piacentini’s View Different, who will also take on the role of senior advisor to the company, and Riccardo Zacconi, founder of King (Candy Crush), along with other strategic angel investors. The transaction also sees confirmation of support from existing investors such as Entourage, Verve Ventures and Joe Zadeh.
Following the investment, Rexhi Dollaku, general partner at Base10 and long-standing investor, will join Lexroom’s board, opening a new chapter of international growth for the start-up.
Founded in Italy in 2023 by Martina Domenicali, Andrea Lonza and Paolo Fois (pictured), Lexroom was created with the mission of simplifying and innovating the work of solicitors and legal professionals, both in law firms and in-house, thanks to generative AI. The platform makes every step of legal work faster, safer and smarter: from regulatory research to drafting documents, to strategic support in consulting.
Just six months after the €2 million seed round led by Entourage, the Italian start-up has doubled its workforce and tripled its customer base.
Lexroom has chosen to build its technology with a radical focus on quality and depth of sources. The database already contains over five million legal documents and adopts a hyper-localisation approach capable of adapting to different legal systems, serving individual professionals and large corporate teams with equal effectiveness.
“The legal industry is undergoing a real revolution,” says Paolo Fois, CEO and co-founder of Lexroom, in a statement. “The market has proven to be extremely receptive to our solution, and today thousands of professionals consider us a trusted partner in their daily work. We are excited to continue this growth journey together with Base10. With this round, we will accelerate our internationalisation, because the future of the legal industry is being played out on a global scale and is still to be built.
Lexroom is transforming one of the largest and most traditional industries with a product that lawyers genuinely enjoy using. Paolo, Martina and Andrea bring with them an extraordinary mix of deep legal expertise and product vision, and in a very short time, they have demonstrated how AI can significantly change the way legal work is done,” said Rexhi Dollaku, general partner at Base10. “We are proud to partner with them as they set a new standard for the use of AI in the legal industry.”
The new round, which will be subject to the Italian government’s Golden Power approval, marks the beginning of a phase of international growth: with customers already active in Germany and imminent entry into the Spanish market, Lexroom’s strategy sees Europe as the natural terrain for developing a model that combines legal depth and cutting-edge technology.
